Lawrence of Arabia
“Develop a compelling change vision that inspires employees with purpose and is aligned to the organisation’s strategy, values, and beliefs"
👏 Happy Friday!
On this day, May 19, 1935, Thomas Edward Lawrence died. He was more famously known as Lawrence of Arabia. Lawrence was a British soldier and scholar best known for his role in leading the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire during World War I. His efforts helped to weaken the Empire and paved the way for the creation of modern-day Jordan, Iraq, and other Arab nations. He later became disillusioned with politics and the British government. He joined the Royal Air Force under an assumed name in 1923 and worked as an aircraft mechanic for several years. Throughout his life, he wrote and published several books about his experiences in the Arab Revolt, including “Seven Pillars of Wisdom.”
✅ Lawrence told us, “All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.” He brought about profound changes during his lifetime. He did something that had never been done by any Arab, he united the fighting Bedouin tribes and helped free them from the Turks and Ottoman Empire that had occupied them for centuries. Through his efforts, he not only inspired a revolt but also fostered a sense of Arab nationalism that would shape the region’s future. His vision of an independent Arab state resonated deeply with the people, and his work became a catalyst for political transformations that unfolded in the years to come. In today’s era of tremendous change, business leaders need a change vision that unites the organisation and its employees. Develop a Compelling Change Vision.

👉 Change Leadership Responsibility 1: Articulate the Change Vision: The first step for the leadership team in implementing their organisation’s change is to articulate the change vision. Change leadership is all about having a vision of what the organisation will look like when it moves from the current ‘a’ state to the improved future ‘B’ state. This change vision must succinctly describe how the organisation, product or service will look after the change is successfully implemented in the time limit specified.
Have a fantastic weekend with the ones you love and care for, enjoy some fresh air, exercise, eat, drink and be happy.
